Sophie Boehler - 1st Place |
More results for Hendon’s very first Acrobatics &
Tumbling Squad! This time we were competing at the most important Tumbling
competition of 2013 – The REGIONAL TUMBLING CHAMPIONSHIPS, held in Richmond.
The rules were simple – come first, and you will compete Nationally for the
London Region!
The squad is building up a strong tumbling reputation, as we
received some great results. Ashira Sears qualified to reach the National
Tumbling Finals held in Stoke on Trent in June! Jemma Evans won her competition
and smashed her rivals by nearly a whole mark above the closest competitor! Massive
congratulations to them both.
Special mention to Ali Keles who decided to compete despite
suffering from a nasty fall on the tumble trak during training 2 days before
the competition. Despite this, he narrowly missed out on reaching the finals by
0.4 of a mark.
Alix Stagg also was thrown into the deep end, as she only
joined the squad a few weeks ago, from the Women’s Artistic squad. She won a silver medal, losing out on
nationals by a VERY tight margin of only 0.04!
Lastly, unfortunately, despite our Sophie Boehler coming 1st
in her category, she missed out on nationals ONLY due to a technical scoring
rule. The judges were hard at work figuring out who qualified, and
unfortunately she just missed out.
